The Providence Memorial Undergraduate Scholarship supports Black and African students studying in English-speaking African countries. You can receive up to $250 per year, and the scholarship can be renewed for up to four years, with a total award of $1,000.



This award honours Providence Ebubechi Napoleon (née Okoye) and helps students who show strong academics, leadership, and a heart for service.


Check if you are eligible

You may apply if all of the following are true:You are Black or African.
You live in and study in an English-speaking African country.
You are accepted to or currently enrolled in an undergraduate programme at a recognised university.

Eligible countries include Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, and others where English is the main language of instruction.


Know what the scholarship covers

This scholarship offers:Up to $250 each year, renewable for four years.
A total award of $1,000.
Money for tuition, room, or board (school fees, housing, or meals).

To continue receiving the scholarship each year, you must:Keep good grades.
Show positive behaviour at university and in your community.
Send in an updated academic transcript and a short progress report every year.
