COASTLAFIA has opened PGD admissions for 2025/2026. If you’ve got an HND, third class or relevant experience and want to further your studies in agriculture or home science, this might just be your chance. Keep reading for details on how to apply before the deadline.



Let’s be honest, not everyone hits first class or even second class upper. Life happens. But that shouldn’t be the end of your school journey, right?

That’s where the College of Agriculture, Science and Technology, Lafia (COASTLAFIA) steps in. Their Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) form for 2025/2026 is now available. If you’re looking to push further in your academic journey, especially in agriculture or related courses, this could be a solid next step. And no, you don’t need to be a genius or rich uncle’s child.


What can you study?

COASTLAFIA didn’t just toss out this form for show. They have real programmes people can build a career on. These are the PGD courses they’re offering this year:Agricultural Economics
Agricultural Extension and Communication
Agronomy (Crop Protection or Crop Science options)
Agronomy (Soil and Water Management)
Animal Science
Aquaculture and Fisheries Management
Home Science and Management

Can you apply?

Alright, slow down small. Before you rush to fill the form, check if you meet the entry conditions.

Here’s what COASTLAFIA is asking for:Five O’ Level credits, including Maths, English, Biology or Agric Science, Chemistry and Physics. All these in not more than two sittings.
A third class degree in a relevant field from any recognised university.
Or an HND with upper credit in Agriculture or something related.
If your HND came with lower credit, they’ll still consider you — but only if you’ve got useful work experience.
They also left room for “other acceptable qualifications” the Academic Board approves. (That one dey vibes a little, but it means there’s room if your case is special.)
How to apply

The process no too hard. If you’ve done anything online before — maybe even JAMB or NYSC — this one go be small.Go to the COASTLAFIA PGD Application Portal.
Open an account with your real details.
Pay ₦20,000 through the portal. No need to carry money to one corner cyber café guy. Do it proper.

Application starts: 8th September, 2025

Closes: 18th October, 2025
