We are seeking a highly creative and detail-oriented Design Assistant to support our client’s design team in developing bridal and occasion collections. This role involves assisting in design execution, material sourcing, fittings, and administrative tasks while ensuring quality control and brand consistency. The ideal candidate should be passionate about fashion, highly organized, and capable of working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Design SupportAssist in researching trends, fabrics, colors, and silhouettes to inspire new collections.
Support the creation and development of bridal and occasional wear designs.
Technical DesignPrepare and update technical sketches and tech packs.
Collaborate on sample development and communicate design adjustments.
Material ManagementSource fabrics, embellishments, and production materials.
Maintain an organized inventory and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely availability of materials.
Fittings and AdjustmentsOrganize and attend design fittings.
Assist in making necessary adjustments based on fit sessions and feedback.
Administrative TasksMaintain organized design files and documentation.
Schedule meetings and prepare presentations for client consultations.
Quality ControlConduct quality checks on prototypes and final products to ensure they meet brand standards.
Team CollaborationWork closely with designers, patternmakers, and production teams to ensure seamless execution of collections.
Content CreationSupport in curating and developing content for digital platforms to showcase the brand’s designs and creative process.
Qualifications & Skills:Bachelor's degree or diploma in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field.
Strong knowledge of fabrics, garment construction, and fashion trends.
Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop) is an advantage.
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Passion for fashion, creativity, and attention to detail.
