Job SummaryThe successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that facility operates in a safe and complaint manner, with a focus on preventing accidents, injuries, and environmental incidents related to the handling and storage of hazardous chemicals.
Job DutiesDeveloping and implementing safety policies and procedures that comply with relevant regulations and industry best practices.
Conducting safety inspections and audits of the facility, equipment, and processes to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Providing safety training to employees and contractors on proper safety procedures, the handling and storage of hazardous chemicals, and emergency response protocols.
Developing and maintaining emergency response plans and conducting regular drills to ensure that employees are prepared to respond to accidents or incidents.
Investigating accidents, incidents, and near-misses to identify the root causes and develop corrective actions to prevent re-occurrence.
Maintaining accurate records of safety inspections, training, incidents, and other safety-related activities.
Collaborating with operations and maintenance teams to identify and implement safety improvements and risk mitigation measures.
Monitoring and reporting on safety performance metrics, such as injuries incidents rates, making recommendations for improvement
Overall, the safety officer’s primary responsibility to ensure that the factory operates in a safe and compliant manner, with the goal of preventing accidents, injuries, and environmental incidents.
QualificationsA bachelor’s degree in a related major.
Good command of English language
Strong communication skills.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in this position.
Certifications like NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) and IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) is a big plus
