UBTH Benin is now selling forms for admission into its Health Sciences and Technology programmes for 2025/2026. There are certificate, diploma and HND options across medical, health and technical fields. No JAMB needed for most courses, but read the full guide before applying.



The University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), Benin City is accepting applications for its Institute of Health Sciences and Technology for the 2025/2026 session. If you’ve been eyeing a career in health, this could be your shot.



Available Courses and Duration

You don’t need JAMB for most of these. The courses cover certificate, diploma and higher diploma levels. Here’s what’s on offer:
Certificate, Diploma and Special ProgrammesAnaesthetic Training – 3 years
Dental Surgery Technician – 3 years
Mortuary Science and Funeral Services – 1 year
Community Health Officers – 1 year (B.Sc Special), 2 years (Regular)
ND and HND CoursesHealth Information Management – ND: 2 years, HND: 2 years
Environmental Health Technology – ND: 2 years, HND: 2 years
Orthopaedic Cast Technology – ND: 2 years
Dispensing Opticianry – ND: 2 years
Biomedical Engineering Technology – ND: 2 years, HND: 2 years
Paramedics Technology – ND: 2 years


Who Can Apply?

You’ll need:At least five credits in WAEC, NECO or GCE (max two sittings), including English, Maths, Chemistry, Physics and Biology
For Paramedics and Environmental Health, Health Science can replace Biology
ND applicants must score at least 150 in 2025 JAMB UTME
For Biomedical Engineering, a pass in technical subjects like woodwork, auto mechanics, basic electricity, technical drawing or fine art helps
HND applicants must:Meet the same O’level conditions above
Hold an ND with at least Lower Credit from an NBTE-approved course
Show one year of relevant work experience
Have a valid professional licence
How to ApplyForms cost ₦12,000 for Diploma, Certificate and Direct Entry (HND) applicants
Post-UTME form for ND applicants costs ₦2,000
All payments must be made through the official UBTH Remita portal
After payment, print your form and submit it at the Registrar’s Office before the screening date
Other NotesThe entrance exams will be computer-based
