WAEC Denies Fake News on 2025 Exam Cancellation


False news is going around that the 2025 WAEC exams were cancelled. They weren’t. WAEC has finished marking and will release results soon. Stay with trusted sources.



A fake press release went viral on Saturday, 19 July 2025, saying WAEC and the Federal Ministry of Education had scrapped the 2025 WASSCE for School Candidates. The rumour claimed that widespread cheating and leaked questions forced the cancellation.

WAEC has now cleared the air.



The Council said it never made such a decision and did not issue that statement. According to WAEC, the exams were not cancelled, and there’s no truth in the story being pushed online. They believe someone is out to cause confusion and damage the Council’s name.
